KIMS Hubballi hosted an event on October 5th 2023 to announce the launch of Transplant Immunology (HLA – Human Leukocyte Antigen) Lab in its premises.
The lab is being run by Bangalore Medical Services Trust.
Dr. Venkatesh Moger, HoD – Nephrology, shared during the event that “This lab saves more than 12 hours of agonizing time for the patients who used to travel to Bangalore for giving the blood samples for organ transplant. This also lends dignity for the organ donor whose family need not wait for long hours to claim the body in cases of donation from a cadaver – brain dead patient”
The Director of KIMS Hubballi, Dr. Ramalingappa Antartani thanked BMST for not only having the lab in their premises but lending support through providing 100 -150 units of screened red cells every month at no cost to help the poor and the needy.
Dr. Latha Jagannathan speaking on the occasion was grateful for the entire team of KIMS Hubballi for generously providing the space for the lab and thanked them for generously accepting the blood, which is a small support in the scheme of KIMS Hubballi which caters to more than a 1 lakh patients every year.
